First, no one is actually going to ask you for your password. An administrator will already have access to your info. Second, the email address is not from your ISP which also means it is probably false. Keep an eye out for these attempts because if you fall for just one..you will have massive amounts of work to do to get your identity back.
- They don’t pay
- They don’t know what they are doing
- They don’t answer emails
- They don’t answer phone calls
They get contracts from such places as Office Depot and Brother and Dell, etc. and then outsource the work to smaller companies such as my own. 7 months and no response from them.
I was concerned when I took the job and I did a google search but it looked like I would get paid, just that it would take awhile. Now, I don’t think I will get paid at all. I hope people continue to post there true stories about this awful company.
I love my blackberry! There. I said it. However, I am tempted from time to time to try an iPhone. Fortunately, Apple usually goes and does something stupid that reminds me how gated Apple products really are.
The trackball. It’s the little pearl looking thing in the middle of blackberries that allows you to move around the screen. it use to be a scroll wheel located on the left side of the phone. When Blackberries became more than just email devices they needed something new. Great concept. Many people love it and think that is what they are known for. Too bad most people have short term memories.
The trackball is going away. It is being replaced with an optical trackpad. You can see the trackpad in action on the new blackberries in just a few months. I will be relieved when it gets replaced. Prior to me owning a blackberry, I would constantly see people blowing on their blackberries. I would ask them what they were doing and they said they were blowing out dirt from the trackball. Really? Sounds like a pain. When I got my blackberry I didn’t have any problems with dirt. I did, however, have issues with Papa John’s garlic sauce. Twice.
Well, now I have ran into problems with the trackball. Yes, it does get dirty. Yes, I do blow on it. No, it does no good. However, I can tell you what a person can do.
Either replace the trackball (relatively cheap either thru the internet or from a local dealer) or take the trackball out and clean the contact. When the ring around my trackball broke (yes I dropped it) I had to get the ring replaced. Again, it’s a fairly cheap fix. Now that I knew how to take the ring off, the trackball contraption would fall right out. When looking at the metal contact it was all full of some black gunk. I cleaned it off with just a small piece of paper towling. Probably should have used some rubbing alcohol on a q-tip. After replacing it the trackball worked again. I don’t quite understand what was happening with mine but sometimes it won’t scroll up or it won’t scroll down.
One thing to keep an eye on is whenyou pop the ring off. You can use anything to pop it off. I used the end of a letter opener. There are very tiny pieces of plastic that hold it into place. Avoid breaking them all off otherwise you will have to buy a new ring.
Good luck with those blackberries! I’m looking at late November for the new Merlin to come out for AT&T.
Yes, Skype was sold today. I love skype, except for the past two days where my mic won’t work properly, but in any event I do subscribe to skypin and skypeout. I believe the math works out to $5 a month for unlimited calls. We aren’t even talking about the free skype to skype or video. Hopefully the new owners keep the low prices but introduce other services.
This is crazy stuff. The Japanese now have a running robot. Sure it doesn’t run like Flash Gordon but it RUNS! It’s amazing how they come up with this stuff.
First off, Google Voice is suppose to integrate fully with an Android phone. Makes sense because it it’s Google’s operating system. I would hope so because I am so far disappointed in Google Voice on my blackberry. I have an 8310 Curve with AT&T.
Google Voice is a separate application that has very limited appeal. After the OTA download it is pretty straightforward. You login in to your google account which then brings up two tabs. Dialer and Inbox. The dialer is a call log of all the people that have called you on your Google
Voice number. Much the same way as the Inbox. Well, I haven’t really found much of a use for the inbox for text messages. The built-in messaging of the blackberry is far more intuitive then the listings in Google Voice.
In fact, I usually forget I even have the application on my phone. I really like the whole aspect
of text conversations being saved on the internet and my favorite being all my phones ring (skype and my cell). There are just too many bugs to be worked out.
First, I am happy that it displays the person’s name in Google Voice but when I check my regular messages a name doesn’t appear and area code 406 number shows. It can be confusing.
Overall, I’m very disappointed and hope they can add some more functionality. i want to see it incorporate it into the blackberry instead of being an app that runs on top the OS.
